Development of a new yarn supply for weft knitting machines to produce innovative knitwear

The increasing demand for technical textiles makes innovations and acceleration of processes necessary. This research paper presents an innovative knitting technology. technology, which was funded by the European Regional Development Fund as R&D-project (EFRE-0400310), reduces production time creates completely novel structures. introduces validation process technology therefore brings theoretical considerations into a practical application. yarn supply enables double-layered fabric on flat circular machines. double-faced consists two single-faced sides are knitted first in front needle bed second rear bed. These fabrics joined third both beds same carriage stroke. method ensures that up to three yarns knit one system pass. Furthermore, fourth can be implemented insert weft yarn. Additionally, produced simultaneously stroke beds. In this case, fewer strokes required standard structures such Milano Rib. structure faster than with conventional methods. results show machine produces good quality fabrics.
